Detectives arrested Michael McDonald, 38, at a home in Healey Close on Thursday morning last week after receiving information from North Melbourne police.
He was arrested about 9.45am without incident at the house, which police said belonged to an friend.
McDonald had been charged with affray and three counts of unlawful assault over an incident in Moonee Ponds on December 13 last year.
A warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in court.
He is also facing nine charges including entering a building to commit an offence, intentionally cause injury, unlawful assault and criminal damage.
He faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday.
He was remanded in custody.
Police released a photo of McDonald earlier this month to help find him.
