Police believe the 64-year-old gained employment at the nursing home last month using the identity and qualifications of another person who works interstate.
Information received by police claiming the woman was not registered to practise as a nurse led them to arrest her at a Deniliquin address.
She was charged with dealing with identity information to commit an indictable offence and two counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Deniliquin Local Court on January 19.
