WHILE the Christmas and New Year period sees most people relaxing and enjoying holidays, it has been business as usual for hard-working trainer Shaun Snudden.

Snudden landed a winner at Leeton on Boxing Day and another the next night, also at Leeton. Now he is out to extend his winning streak at Albury Paceway tonight.
The Narrandera trainer has three runners engaged — Horizon Guy, Libiamo and Fivehundredfortwo while stablemate Rock Albert is an emergency in race 1.
Horizon Guy is on the quick back-up in the $9000 C2 to C5 Pace (1770m) after running fourth at Leeton on Saturday.
Junior reinsman Corey Bell will drive the winner of five of his 18 starts from an awkward draw of gate 5.
“It looks to be a fairly quick front line but he will be going forward early — he is pretty quick himself,” Snudden said.
“I would imagine he would be in the first four out.
“He is in pretty good form so if he can get some luck early, he shouldn’t be too far away.”
Snudden rated consistent mare Libiamo as he best chance on the program.
Libiamo, a last-start winner at Wagga, also has to overcome gate 5.
“On paper, it looks another winnable race,” he said.
“She is also pretty quick out of the gate and is half a chance to find the front.
“If she happened to find the front, she definitely would give them something to chase. She ran quick time at Wagga at her last start.”
Snudden was also upbeat about the chances of Fivehundredfortwo in the $6000 C0 Only Pace (2170m).
Fivehundredfortwo fell last start at Albury this month after being involved in a roughly run race that produced plenty of hard-luck stories.
“It was probably the worst race I have ever seen but, luckily, she escaped any serious injury,” he said.
“She has drawn wide in gate 6 so she will go back early.
“But against a moderate lot, she should be good enough to get over them late.”
Snudden, the reigning Southwest and Riverina prem-
iership-winning trainer, also claimed Albury’s leading trainer title last season.
He is enjoying another dominant season and has already notched 31 winners to sit fifth in the state trainers title.
