The Tradelink Hurricanes set an impressive 8-172 off its 20 overs on the way to a dominant 104-run victory over the Lindhe Reds.
James Weighell topscored with 48 for the Hurricanes, Josh Warren-Marmo chipped in with an entertaining 44 and Wodonga’s Jack Craig dispatched a few bad balls well clear of the boundary.
The Reds were never in the hunt, with the Hurricanes far too good in the field.
After the dangerous David Farrell was run out for 19, the Reds collapsed for just 68 in 14 overs.
Hurricanes captain Trent Ball said his team couldn’t have played much better.
“Our batsmen showed some real class, they withstood some early pressure and really went on the attack when they were able to,” he said.
“It was a perfect day, everything really fell into place for us.
“It’s great to get the win, but we’re really to happy to play for the cause and put on a good show for the people who turned up.”
Kane Arendarcikas, from the Insight Clinic Privates, was named the tournament’s most valuable player, while the Reds’ Farrell and Andrew Lade were the leading rungetter and wicket taker respectively.
Earlier, the 2AY Aces edged the Privates by one run in the playoff for third.
A brilliant spell from the Privates’ Avery Weilandt (5-31) wasn’t enough, nor was a half century from John Spencer (52), with the Aces’ 180 proving just too much.
