Chief instructor Erik Mol, of Smart Air, said pilots were keen to know how changes, introduced in September, worked.
CASA is going through a licensing and management shake-up to bring Australia into line with international rules.
As part of that, all licence information will be stored online.
“There will always be a few questions about how it works, especially in relation to the instructor and instrument ratings,” Mr Mol said.
“A lot of new requirements for maintaining ratings will have people asking questions.”
The CASA specialists’ briefing on February 5 will cover the transition to new pilot licences, ageing planes, weather forecasts and communicating with air traffic control.
Pilots are being urged to ask questions, raise local safety issues and provide feedback.
There will also be an update on online educational tools to help pilots hone their flying skills.
CASA’s Peter Gibson said the briefing was part of a national safety campaign.
“CASA places a high priority on face-to-face education and support for pilots, particularly in regional Australia,” he said.
“We want pilots to ask as many questions as possible.
“There are important changes being made to improve aviation safety in Australia and all our pilots need the latest information.”
The meeting will be held at Quest Albury in Kiewa Street from 6pm.
Pilots can book their places online at casa.gov.au/avsafety.
