Prince Philip was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia, the highest Australian award, given in 1988 by the then prime minister Bob Hawke, the Labor leader.
Now our Prime Minister Tony Abbott, leader of the Coalition government, seems to be a poor leader because of the same award (the highest of this time), being bestowed on the same person.
I believe Prince Philip has contributed to our country over many years, in supporting and encouraging our youth in so many ways and he is to be commended for it.
