While the rail removal and the revamping of central Wodonga was expensive, we will now have a well laid out area for the next 100 plus years.
It has taken a lot of courage, which is rare for a council, to look to the future and make the right decision— well done.
The next step is capitalising on this great project.
I recently was privileged to dine at the Broad Gauge Restaurant where arguably one of the best chefs in Australia, Jodie, plies her trade, and the best front of house Basil Fawlty, pampered us for our wedding anniversary.
The experience was only blemished by the view from the platform north.
Let’s make a significant part of this area a park with lots of lawn and trees.
This area needs to be developed for the 100 plus year’s future also and leave a legacy that is the envy of all councils.
But please hurry up.
