Officers have made a renewed push to crack down on methamphetamine use in the city; the woman is one of two dealers who have been caught with the drug since Friday.
Police stopped the 24-year-old woman’s car on Friday and searched the vehicle.
They found methamphetamine, valued about $10,500, in six bags each containing 1.75 grams of the drug.
The car was unregistered; the woman unlicensed and she tested positive to being affected by ice.
Officers also found evidence of drug trafficking, and about $2000 in cash in the vehicle.
The woman had already been on bail for her alleged involvement in a large ice syndicate in Wangaratta last year.
A 20-year-old Wang-aratta man was arrested on Sunday morning and charged with drug trafficking after he was caught while driving with several bags of methamphetamine.
The two arrests were not linked.
Sen-Constable Craig Robinson said police were actively targeting any drug related offending.
“We do that through surveillance, attending known areas where people frequent and from public information,” he said.
“Cars are just one way in which they’re being detected.”
Sen-Constable Robinson said it was pleasing to seize the drugs, and in turn reduce some of the impact they would have had in the community.
“Particularly in regards to health, financial stressors and the possibility of further offending within the community for anyone who has a habit they have to service,” he said.
The 24-year-old woman did not apply for bail at the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will re-appear at Wangaratta on Monday.
The man has been bailed to March 23.
