On top of this our council is already deep in debt.
I am betting I am not the only ratepayer who was flabbergasted to read that our council is wanting to pay up to $1 million on some sort of iconic structure to decorate Junction Place.
Surely they would have learned from all the money wasted in decorating High and Stanley streets with meaningless “arty-farty” installations.
Give us ratepayers a break and get back to spending our money on important things.
Or how about this for a suggestion ... let’s buy the lovely trees from QEII Square that the Albury Council wants to get rid of. They would look good in Junction Place.
