Both bag out the council for any efforts to be proactive in the development of Wodonga.
They also infer they are speaking on behalf of all ratepayers, which is fortunately not the case, otherwise nothing in Wodonga would ever change.
There are always a few who don’t like change or progress, but we are lucky to have a council that is working hard, has consulted frequently and is getting on with the task to move the city forward.
Listening to the mayor’s responses on TV and radio has been enlightening and makes it easier to see the big picture for Wodonga and the importance of our partnership with the State Government and Places Victoria.
They are putting in large sums of money to change our city, so of course they have expectations too.
They want to help us grow, see a new-look CBD and to see a return on their investments, which has been agreed through public consultations of active and attractive spaces — for people and businesses to thrive.
To be the fastest-growing regional city in Victoria means we have to show we are a city that is going forward and creating a great place to live.
This is the positive message I am hearing from our councillors.
The artwork, which some don’t want to spend money on, is just one of many developments and new attractions that need to be implemented to form part of Wodonga’s overall culture for the future.
It is good we have a council that continues to do what we elected them to do.
It’s a pity the same old few who are frightened of change are there to hammer them at every opportunity.
It must be a tough job being a councillor; if they sit back and do nothing they will still be criticised.
