The footage, posted on Instagram, shows the former Beatle playing the guitar and singing alongside Swift on stage at the episode's star-studded after party at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

The pair were joined by former Saturday Night Live cast member (and current Tonight Show host) Jimmy Fallon.
The group also performed The Beatles' I Saw Her Standing There, with comedian Bill Murray playing the tambourine.

Swift and McCartney were two of the many celebrities who appeared in the iconic American comedy show's anniversary episode.
Swift appeared as a guest character in one of the show's regular sketches, spoof soap opera The Californians. McCartney was one of the episode's musical guests (the show also hosted musical performances by Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Paul Simon).
Many of the show's former cast members returned for the episode, with special appearances made by Murray, Fallon, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Chris Rock, and Will Ferrell, among others.
Since 1975, Saturday Night Live has been a breeding ground for American comic talent. Famous sketches from the show include Wayne's World, which was later turned into the film of the same name, and Tina Fey's Sarah Palin impersonation.
