Despite losing big-name players Ryan Griffen, Adam Cooney, Shaun Higgins and Daniel Giansiracusa in the off-season, Liberatore, 22, said yesterday the Bulldogs were upbeat ahead of the NAB Challenge later this month.
“We’re ready to go,” Liberatore said during the Bulldogs’ community camp at Corryong yesterday.
“The last few months have been awesome.
“It’s been a fresh start with a few departures; everyone’s fitted in well.
“Everyone is energised and hopefully as a collective we can improve on last year.
“I think we can.”
Liberatore was one of eight Bulldogs players involved in clinics at Corryong yesterday, while others went to Yarrawonga, Albury and Wodonga.
The star midfielder said there would notable changes to the Bulldogs’ game plan under new coach Luke Beveridge.
“He’s brought in his knowledge from Hawthorn and his way of coaching and made some tweaks,” he said.
“I think the players have responded well.
“He has made it quite clear that blokes have got to let their talent shine.”
Although Liberatore was a runaway winner in the club’s Charles Sutton Medal last season, he said the challenge was to take his game to another level.
“I’m fit and healthy and ready to go again,” he said.
“I just to build on last year.
“I might get some (more attention), but you just keep on rolling and deal with it as it comes.”
The Bulldogs launch their pre-season campaign against Richmond next Saturday.
