Greg Balnaves, his wife Gay and their two children have been missing the Staffordshire for two weeks.
Since his disappearance from Kemp Street on February 14, Mr Balnaves said he has exhausted every avenue trying to locate the family pet.
“I noticed our two staffys were missing when I woke up early in the morning, I don’t know how but somehow the side gate was left open,” he said.
“At 10am the ranger rang up and he had the white female staffy, Tully, and I asked if he had the black one and he said no, so that was the last we had seen him.
“I went to all the vets, posted an ad offering a reward in the paper, put signs up all along Kaitlers Road and surrounds, I checked with the rangers, he has been registered as a missing dog now and we have covered all bases, we just can’t find him.”
The dog is registered and microchipped and has been with the family for five years since he was a puppy.
Digby is black with distinctive white markings on his front left paw, back right leg and on his chest.
Mr Balnaves said because he hasn’t yet shown up, he believes someone could be keeping him in their backyard.
“He’s been with Tully since he was nine weeks old and they are never more than 20 feet apart,” he said.
“He wouldn’t leave her, he sticks to her like glue and for her to be found up on Prune Street, he must be in that area too.
“He has a very distinctive bark, he doesn’t bark very often usually only when he is being playful around other dogs or children, but we have heard him barking somewhere near Kiama Street and Kaitlers Road.
Mrs Balnaves said the family just wanted their pet back.
“As a pet owner it is really frustrating, if you’ve got something that’s not yours, then you can’t keep it,” she said.
“Greg and I don’t care who has got him or where he has been, we just want him back.”
The family are offering a reward for information leading Digby’s return.
