Police responded to James Fallon High yesterday morning after the girl arrived at school with the knife before leaving the school grounds.
A government spokesman said there had not been any danger to anyone at the school.
“Students should be well aware that knives are not permitted at school and any student with a knife will be disciplined, including suspension,” the spokesman said.
“Her or his parents (will be) notified and the matter reported to police.
“The school followed this process today.
“No students or staff were ever in danger.”
The incident follows the evacuation of Murray High School last week when a 15-year-old boy, who had been banned from the premises, entered the school grounds and punched a student.
