The drivers were not injured but the accident has sparked concern from a nearby resident, Heather Smith, who lives on Old Barnawartha Road.
“That intersection is notorious for causing problems,” she said.
“It’s a dangerous intersection that needs to be upgraded.”
One of the trucks was travelling south-bound on the freeway when a truck turning into McKoy Street, from the freeway, failed to give way just before 5pm.
The driver heading towards Melbourne was able to steer the truck to safety.
One of the prime movers had to be towed and the other was driveable.
Wodonga Senior Constable Lynn Furborough said motorists should take more care when entering the freeway.
One of the south-bound lanes was closed for a short time.
