Now in its 43rd year the event, held at Magorra Park, is one of the biggest on the Mitta calendar and is made up of a range of traditional country and cattlemen competitions.
The muster has accumulated $350,000 over the past several years, and with the added help of state and local government funding, the money has gone toward the much-needed facility.
Muster committee member Scott Giltrap said the money raised from this year’s event would go toward paying off any debt from the building.
He expects this year’s event will be even bigger after drumming up support from the Mountain Cattleman’s annual get together, which was held in Mitta in January.
“It’s a major family fun day with lots of local stuff, with lots off community involvement,” he said.
“This year there will be a whole range of events including show jumping, novelty horse events, mountain cattlemen’s challenges, wood chopping and lots of stalls.”
For the kids there will be plenty of rides and egg tossing.
Entry is $15 for adults, $10 for pensioners and free for children under 16.
