The Yarrawonga 18-year-old has picked up a first year scholarship that builds on his previous inclusion in the Victorian Golf Elite Squad.
In addition to the golf, the VIS opens up opportunities to dietitians, strength and conditioning as well as sports psychologists and others.
The scholarship is seen as a massive boost to the elite amateur, providing a pathway to other elite programs and support to compete in state and national ranking events.
Droop is now No. 13 in Australia off the back of a solid summer that saw him in the last group of the day in the Master of the Amateurs and winning the Port Phillip Amateur in December — effectively the Victorian amateur title.
