Lavington Hair Affair was closed before Christmas but will re-open tomorrow.
Ben and Fiona Jones are taking on the challenge of rebuilding the business, believing they can offer something special.
Mrs Jones said those who visited Lavington Hair Affair could expect good old-fashioned conversation, one feature she believes is a vital part of hairdressing.
“You can cut your hair or dye it blue and become a different person,” Mrs Jones said.
“Your hair is you so a hairdresser needs to know the person you are.”
The couple has four young children and opening their new business means Mrs Jones will no longer be running between two jobs.
Her passion for hairdressing is evident after spending 29 years in the profession.
While Mrs Jones is hoping to build the Lavington business up again, she’s not new to the business world and owned a hair salon in Griffith for 11 years.
Mrs Jones said she was attracted to the salon because of its easy access and parking.
She said it was also convenient for clients with its proximity to Lavington Square, the library and The Doctors at Lavington.
Mrs Jones’ husband said opening a second salon was a no-brainer.
“She’s a good hairdresser and our other shop is running well,” Ben said.
They moved to the Border six years ago.
