After holding the Roos to 9-105, the Pigeons chased down the target thanks to solid knocks from Mark and James Kreutzberger, Dan Lieschke and Ryan Kirkwood in just 21.4 overs.
The home team had to overcome several anxious moments after slumping from 0-51 to 3-53 before James Kreutzberger and Kirkwood steadied the ship with a match-winning 38-run partnership.
“It’s a great effort by the club to win another one,” club stalwart James Kreutzberger said yesterday.
“I thought our bowlers really set it up.
“They did a great job.”
Rand youngster Nathan I’Anson, who was the only member of the side not to play in last year’s premiership, picked up 2-13 including the prized scalps of Karl Schilg and Ross Tulich.
Mark Kreutzberger also bowled well to claim 2-14.
Schilg kept the Brocklesby innings together with 38 opening the batting while Tulich (19) and Adam I’Anson (15) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
In division two, Oaklands defeated Rand by 12 runs at Oaklands.
