Questions had been asked after Rochelle Virgo bought paintball tickets at a stall in Lavington before Christmas.
She had contacted Project Paintball Wagga to use the tickets, believing it to be the only paintball venue in the area, only to be told the tickets were not valid and would not be accepted.
Owner Dwayne Nicholls last week told The Border Mail there were no businesses in the area associated with the tickets.
However, another nearby venue, Demons Paintball at Collingullie, has advised it will accept the tickets.
Demons Paintball co-owner Valarie Foster said the business did honour the tickets, which are sold by marketing company Ministry of Paintball.
“We’re finding ourselves in the position of having to defend our business, our name and our reputation against our local opposition,” she said.
“I don’t want all the people from Albury- Wodonga to panic.
“We’d like to like to let all the future customers know not to panic and we look forward to seeing them in the future.
“We are honouring all the tickets and are looking forward to seeing them.”
Mrs Foster said it was “disappointing” it had got to the stage of having to defend the business.
Mr Nicholls yesterday said he had not told confused customers about the mix-up between the two competing venues.
“I’ve not been mentioning them (Demons Paintball) by name, but I’ve been saying there’s another paintball group half an hour away,” he said.
He said he did not have any issues with Demons Paintball.
International Paintball Group, which was mentioned as one of the groups selling the tickets in December, has told The Border Mail it has no affiliation with Ministry of Paintball.
