Fab Fevola is also an acceptor at tonight’s meeting at Moonee Valley in the final heat of the 55 Second Challenge.
The slick speedster finished fourth of six runners last start when taking on some of the world’s highest-rated sprinters including Lankan Rupee and Brazen Beau in the group 1 Lightning Handicap at Flemington.
Binaisse said he still had plenty to weigh up before making a final decision.
“The owner has got the final say but I would love to head to Albury,” Binaisse said.
“I was really proud of his run in the Lightning and he rarely runs a bad race.
“The only time he usually does run a bad race and is when another horse takes him on for the lead which ends up being to their own detriment as well.
“But he can be a bit of a funny in the barrier and at Moonee Valley he has got his own barrier attendant.
“We also need to have a detailed look at the speed maps for both races before making a final decision.”
Fab Fevola is the $3.40-favourite in pre-post markets with Tim Clark set to take his first ride on the gelding. Despite being beaten just under five lengths by Lankan Rupee in the Lightning, Binaisse doesn’t expect the Flat Knacker to be an easy kill for Fab Fevola.
“I don’t think that at all and he is a quirky sort of horse,” he said.
“Maybe on form it looks an easy race but putting on a strange rider that has never been on him before isn’t ideal.”
The Flat Knacker has a bonus of $50,000 for any runner that can break 50 seconds which is yet to go off since 2009.
Binaisse said it was unrealistic that any horse could scorch the 900- metres under 50 seconds.
“We were going to tackle the race last year and worked out that it is mathematically impossible,” he said.
“You have to average just over 10 seconds for every furlong which no horse can do.”
