It’s perfect for you if you fancy showing off your racing finery but don’t want the pressure of entering today’s fashions on the field competition.
Like Jess Cavanough, the daughter of Albury horse trainer Brett Cavanough, you too could win the $1000 first prize for the racegoer judged the best dressed in The Border Mail’s Hot 100 competition.
Miss Cavanough received the $1000 top prize with 1000 votes, 99 votes, ahead of runner-up Wodonga’s Jake Robertson, who won $250.
Readers will decide the winner of the best race look among those whose pictures are published in the next week.
Those interested in entering can visit The Border Mail’s Hot 100 tent at the southern end of the grandstand from 11am to have their photo taken.
The tent will close at 2pm sharp so make sure you don’t miss out.
From the entries, we’ll select the Hot 100 and publish the pictures on Tuesday.
Then it’s over to you.
Vote via SMS to nominate your favourite contestant.
Later in the week, we will update you on the voting by publishing the top-25 entrants and then the top-10 before announcing this year’s winner the following week.
This year’s leading vote-getter will receive $1000, with the runner-up receiving $250.
Each time you vote, you go into the draw for a $250 cash prize.
