Mr Coleman, 49, born and bred in Wodonga, recently moved to Queensland but returned to the Border to share his special day with family and friends.

The plumber used to operate Laser Plumbing Albury-Wodonga, as well as several other plumbing companies over the years.

“It’s certainly a special moment because it’s not often we can all be together, given we live apart,” Mr Coleman said.

“It’s almost an honour to have my 97-year-old grandmother here today because she has been unhealthy for so long.”

Grandmother Phyllis Whelan, who gets called little nanna by the family, skipped using her walker so she could “look her best”.

Someone else doing their best to impress in the photographs was six-month-old Oscar, grandson to Mr Coleman.

Oscar’s mum Katey Coleman, 24, who was born in Wodonga, raised in Chiltern and Albury, and is now living at Ballarat, was happy the five generations could be together for their first professional photograph together.

“We are going to get some great photos out of today,” she said.

Mr Coleman’s father, Alf Coleman, 71, a recently retired plumber was also among guests.
