The defending cup holders were well below par when beaten 1-0 by Boomers last week, while United haven’t played since before Easter.
City’s Brogan Broadway admitted the disruptions made it difficult to gauge either team’s form.
“We’ve only played two games and it a little hard to see where we are at but last week was not one of our best,” he said.
“It was only 1-0 but we know we can be so much better.
“We need to hit feet, it was just so frustrating last week with silly turnovers but it was only our second game and we had a lot of our younger players committed to rep duties during the weekend.
“It’s a derby and it is always ultra competitive so I’d expect it will be a pretty tight game.”
United’s Keely McLaren said the break between games was a concern but they have embraced new coach Frank Vescio’s coaching philosophy.
“He really pushes us and has set some simple rules that have us well aware of what he and our teammates expect,” she said.
“We know if we turn the ball over then the pressure is on us to chase it back rather than drop our heads and he also wants us to keep the ball on the deck.”
