Dogs and cats have organisms in their stomachs and can also have diseases in their faeces that are harmful to the composting process and plant life, and ultimately humans.
These diseases can get into the plants you eat and should not be digested as they can be extremely harmful.
I would suggest that before the council goes ahead with its plan for a third bin more study should be done on the subject otherwise a lot of lawyers will be rubbing their hands together with glee sometime in the future. Dog and cat faeces, as well as human (including from nappies) should go into the toilet.
People who have their own compost bins and people like us who do not have vegetable scraps, (as we eat frozen vegetables and fish) should be exempt from having the new bin.
