After a blistering first quarter, the Cats could only muster four more goals, allowing the Lions to skip away with a 41-point win.
Coach Andrew Richardson said there were a few areas in the Cats’ game that needed to improve to account for Cobram.
“The team is still working on being a more cohesive unit,” he said.
“We have nine new players on last year, so it’ll take a bit of time.
“But there were a few occasions where we weren’t disciplined and it cost us on the weekend.
“We lost a bit of momentum, and we can’t afford to do that against Cobram.”
Despite the Tigers struggling, Richardson was expecting nothing less than an absolute effort to secure the points.
