Meanwhile, a Wodonga women’s team had a resounding victory in the recent state triples championships played at East Bendigo.
The team of Margaret Bedford, Kylie Whitehead and skip Mary Tragardh produced superb form and had a comprehensive 27-8 victory against a composite Gippsland team in the final.
Earlier they had defeated Central Goulburn Valley 21-7, Metro West 25-14 and Northern Gateway 16-11.
The margin in each of the games was significant as they stamped their authority.
Bedford has been a leading Ovens and Murray bowler for many years, has represented the state and distinguished herself as an excellent lead in the open pennant competition in recent times.
Whitehead is one of the leading young bowlers regularly playing for the state.
Tragardh has showed her class since moving to Wodonga from Melbourne at the beginning of last season.
