The cars of almost 300 Mars Petcare employees lined Logan Road as the workers got their hands dirty to help advance the project.
With clouds overhead, staff were relieved the rain held off as they shared a barbecue lunch between planting about 600 trees in the area.
Their four-legged friends were never too far behind as the dogs had a trial run of the park due to open on June 14.
Mars supply director Nigel Harrison said the company had shut down its Wodonga factory for the day.
“It gets back to what we are about, pets make a better world for us so this is a community exercise to make a better world for pets,” Mr Harrison said.
Mars employee Trevor Kain said it felt good to spend a day giving back to the community.
“I usually bring my dogs down to this area, so it will be even better now,” he said.
Albury mayor Kevin Mack said their time had wiped at least two weeks off the completion date.
“This is what corporates can do to help,” Cr Mack said.
