POLICE have released computer-generated images of three men wanted over the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old woman on Tuesday night.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the “callous” and “random” attack that occurred about 6.20pm.
The teenage victim said three men followed her when she was crossing the Dean Street footbridge. Two grabbed her and dragged her into bushes near the bike path between Centenary and Kenilworth streets.
She said one had threatened her with a knife and she was sexually assaulted.
Police have asked businesses in Dean Street for security footage with reports the men had fled along the street.
It’s believed they are yet to view any footage.
One business owner, who asked not to be named, said he had spent hours searching for images of the offenders.
“I looked through footage all morning,” he said.
“I let the police know it might be worth them coming down to have a look.
“While we haven’t found anyone who matches the descriptions, there are a couple of people who are not that far from matching them.”
The businessman said he was keen to help in any way possible.
“I’m proud of my town,” he said.
“When things like this happen, any assistance the public can give the better.”
The man recently updated his store’s security system, with one camera facing east on Dean Street.
It’s believed multiple businesses have cameras facing Dean Street around the area where the offenders were reported to have fled.
Detectives renewed their appeal for assistance from the public, urging anyone who noticed anything suspicious near the footbridge to call them.
The offenders are said to be Caucasian men.
One is about 180 to 185 centimetres tall, aged in his early to mid-20s, with dark mid-length hair and a slim muscular build.
He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, tan-coloured jeans and maroon shoes.
The second man is 180 to 185 centimetres tall with a solid build and light hair.
He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, grey tracksuit pants and black lace-up shoes.
The third man is 180 to 185 centimetres tall, aged in his mid to late 20s with a slim build and gaunt facial features.
He has bad breath and was wearing a pale-blue hooded jacket with white print, black jeans and camouflage shoes.
Police urged anyone with information to contact the Albury station on (02) 6023 9299.
