Teisha Kim Louise Maksymow appeared in custody in Albury Local Court yesterday on charges of affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault stemming from an incident where a man received a broken jaw.
Her brother, Jarrah Maksymow, has been charged with similar offences and has been remanded in custody since being arrested.
Police prosecutor Sgt Shannon Lewis did not oppose bail for Teisha Maksymow yesterday, but asked for stringent conditions.
Magistrate Tony Murray released Maksymow on $1000 bail, with a similar surety, ordered her to report to police each Monday, refrain from alcohol and she cannot attend within 10 metres of the Boomerang Hotel.
The charges against her have been adjourned until May 12.
She was socialising with friends at the hotel on February 13 before there was an argument between two groups and both were escorted outside.
Police facts tendered in court said Maksymow, 26, struck a man twice in the face in the hotel’s car park.
He pushed her in the chest and she inflicted a further blow to his face.
Her brother approached and told the victim: “You hit my sister”.
He tried to explain what had taken place, but was hit with a left jab by Jarrah Maksymow and fell backwards.
Teisha Maksymow pulled the victim to the ground, causing grazes to his elbows and her brother punched him while on the ground causing him to black out.
He felt pain in his jaw and blood was coming from his nose and mouth.
It is alleged Teisha Maksymow approached another man and punched him in the face, causing cuts in his mouth.
Her brother left the scene just seconds before police arrived and they spoke to her.
She gave the name Teisha McGuiness and was released pending further investigation by officers.
Solicitor Graham Lamond said there is an inference she used a false name, but it is a name she sometimes uses.
Mr Lamond said she is employed in NSW.
It is alleged Teisha Maksymow approached another man and punched him in the face, causing cuts in his mouth.
