My Fair Lady opened at the Albury Entertainment Centre last Saturday with member for Benambra Bill Tilley starring as a policeman and Father Peter MacLeod-Miller from St Matthew’s Church taking on the role of Lord Boxington.
Father MacLeod-Miller so far has enjoyed life on the stage.
“The woman who plays Lady Boxington knows all my lines and she squeezes my hand just before I have to say them,” Father MacLeod-Miller said.
“She then leads me around the stage — it’s a lot like being married.”
Furniture from Father MacLeod-Miller’s home is also being used in the stage show.
Wodonga Baptist Church Pastor Jonathan Stark is also part of the cast and plays Freddy Eynsford-Hill.
Alongside those not recognised for their acting skills are cast members who are no strangers to the stage, like Nicky Pummeroy who plays the lead role of Eliza Doolittle.
There were about 700 people who attended the opening night and director Joseph Thomsen said he was hoping for similar crowds for the remaining shows.
Shows will be on tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday at 7.30pm.
