But Ben Jeffery said it would be a matter of mind over matter in the hunt for the club’s fourth win of the season.
“Every game this season so far has been tough,” he said.
“It’s an even competition and on the day I think anyone can beat anyone.
“And if we turn up with the right attitude and play the right kind of game we’ll be able to give them a good shake.
“If we complete our own sets and make them come out of their own end — the more we do that the more we limit their opportunities close to our line and the easier it will be for us.
“We’ve got a team that wants to really try hard and work hard to win games.
“And if we start putting it together and getting things right on the field we’re going to give ourselves every chance to beat any team in the competition.”
The Thunder have been hit by injuries so far this season, with brothers Mitch and Chris Seaton still out and Jeffery injuring his ankle against Wagga Kangaroos last week.
And they are still feeling the loss of Jon Huggett, who moved with work commitments.
“I’d rather be out there with my team, but what can you do,” Jeffery said.
“It’s one of those things and you can’t do much about it but in a week or two I should be back playing.
“I’d say everyone in the team is important and when they go down it’s no good — but we have guys filling the gaps and if they play good footy I’m confident they can do the job for us.
“I’d rather (injuries) happen now than at the back end of the season — but it will be good when we’re all back on the paddock and fighting fit.”
Jeffery said Dave Cowhan had been a revelation since his arrival at the club.
“He’s been great for us and been our best for the past couple of weeks,” he said.
“If everyone can follow his lead we’ll be fine, he’s a really upbeat guy and on the field he’s a tough player, he’s been a really good asset for us.
“We’re trying really hard and just not getting over the line but the way we’re going we’ll start putting it together soon.”
