However, there will be those disappointed he was out in Albury in the early hours of Saturday morning ahead of the Ovens and Murray’s clash with Peninsula that afternoon.
A below-par performance by Fevola in the game and the O and M’s subsequent 10-point loss at Albury Sportsground will be seen by some as the result of the decision by Fevola to be out late rather than being well-rested.
Fevola has told The Border Mail his decision has nothing to do with how the team performed.
He has also denied drinking after a “few beers” at the team dinner at the SS&A Club on Friday night following golf with his teammates earlier that day.
Fevola is an adult and can make his own decisions about his behaviour.
But he is also the team’s coach and his behaviour will be seen as an example his teammates should follow.
All of which is a moot point because Fevola has stepped down as coach but no doubt will remain a sore point for the O and M which has once again tumbled in league rankings.
