A FORGETFUL truck driver caused a car to spin out of control on Monday night after spilling diesel on several Wodonga roads.

The driver forgot to put the cap back on to the fuel tank after filling his tank at the service station on the corner of Melbourne Road and Melrose Drive about 9.30pm, causing diesel to spill from his tank when he made right-hand turns.
Wodonga firefighter Brett Myers said there were spills on Melrose Drive, Melbourne Road, Gasden Street and at the on ramp to the Hume Highway.
“The diesel caused a woman’s car to slide on to the traffic island leading to the highway,” he said.
“She reported it but by the time we got there the driver was gone.
The driver was last seen heading north on the Hume Highway.
