I feel your comments were of great value adding to the reality of this debate.
It is fantastic to see a person of your position taking an honest and open approach to looking at some of the many deep issues that lead to domestic violence in our society; a brave move on your part.
I am not about condemning any particular religious institution but about the need for huge changes moving away from Biblical scriptures written down by the hands of men over thousands of years.
I think it is high time for old medieval Bibles of every religion be replaced by true spirituality with a here-and-now connection of people to the, what I call the greater energies of the universe (God, if you prefer).
The largest Christian church on earth still discriminates against women and forbids female priesthood, never mind positions of higher authority; many other churches follow the rigid doctrines of old scriptures tinkled with by the hands of men only.
Fact is religious institutions are divisive and destructive on many levels including placing women below men, and in serious conflict with any God of love; you cannot put God in a book; it’s absolute human arrogance to think we can!
