The $4.3 million building on the Omeo Highway was funded by the state government and is used by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
Staff have been using the depot since mid-February, with landscaping works continuing.
Eight permanent staff are based at the office and depot, with another seven working seasonally as project firefighters.
The depot has a commercial kitchen, firefighting vehicles and equipment, trailers, chainsaws, as well as metal and woodwork facilities.
The building was designed to be ecologically sustainable and includes energy efficient appliances and lighting, water tanks, shading and high performance glazing.
