First-half goals to Katelyn Seal, Izzy Barbero and Zoe Corbett were enough to keep the home team’s unbeaten start to the year intact.
Melrose went two points clear of Boomers at the top of the table, with a game in hand against Albury City.
Coach Dave Pye said they used their pace to advantage.
“We targeted one side of the field in the first half with our pace and it paid dividends,” he said.
“It was a tremendous first half, very intense and we were able to keep the pressure on them for the rest of the game. Katelyn Seal was good, Zoe Corbett a solid performance with Maya and Alex Davis in the midfield also standouts.
“I’m not sure about the table, I always think that if we keep winning they have to keep chasing us.”
