Fr Peter has shown great charismatic leadership at St Matthew’s for Albury and its wider community.
This includes support for refugees, the homeless, the disadvantaged and the mentally ill as well as promoting music training for young people.
We have no doubt that Fr Peter’s mission is to follow Christ’s example of the works of the Good Samaritan.
The Anglican Church has always encompassed a diverse membership with a wide range of peripheral beliefs.
Some, possibly many, within St Matthew’s congregation have difficulty in accepting the concept of “gay marriage” or the proposals to gag protests in Englehardt Street.
These are not trivial matters for any thinking Christian.
However, we accept that some, including Fr Peter, hold opinions which differ from our own, and we respect their right to hold them.
