On the back of 10 players lining up at the Australian under-18 championships and Nick Coughlan being elevated to play with the Footscray VFL team, Boxall, Lachlan Waite (Seymour), Billy Cooper (Shepparton East) and Esava Ratugolea (Cobram) have been promoted.
Boxall, who was recruited from Chiltern this season, has been a key player in Wodonga Raiders’ re-emergence as a force in the Ovens and Murray.
He has kicked 15 goals in eight matches to be one of the finds of the season, along with teammates Sam Murray and Matt Neagle.
Coach Darren Ogier said the Bushrangers were looking to bounce strongly after losing a thriller to North Ballarat Rebels last weekend.
“A great part of our program is that so many talented young footballers get the opportunity at the level,” Ogier said.
“As a coaching group, we are excited by what this week may bring.
“All boys have been training hard and learning our systems. Provided each players plays their role and supports each other, we will get the result we are after.”
Players to return to the team this week are Luke Smith (Congupna), Jake Page (Albury), Ned Nihill (Nathalia) and Fletcher Carroll (Albury).
