Mogg said he was nervous about his time with the Super Rugby province coming to an end, but he'd want exactly the same outcome in the Super Rugby semi-final against the Wellington Hurricanes at the Cake Tin on Saturday if he was staying in Canberra.
The 26-year-old will join French club Montpellier at the end of the season, where he'll join former Brumbies captain Ben Mowen and former Brumbies coach Jake White.
He's chatted to both over the past few weeks, but his focus is solely on trying to help the Brumbies to their second Super Rugby final in two years.
"I caught up with Ben Mowen a couple of weeks ago when he was in Canberra before the Crusaders game, I caught up with Jake when I was in South Africa over the weekend, " Mogg said.
"I'll worry about this weekend and sort the rest of the stuff out later. I'm looking forward to the move, but I can't wait to get out there this weekend and hopefully next weekend and finish of the year strong.
"If I wasn't going I'd still want to finish on a high, I'd be the same whether I was leaving or not, I don't think the motivation is any different, it's just about doing my job for the team."
"I'm obviously nervous, it could be my last week [with the Brumbies], but fingers crossed it's not and we've still got another week to go."
Mogg said the Hurricanes back three were all dangerous even with the absence of All Blacks winger Corey Jane, especially given the return of five-eighth Beauden Barrett.
They also have the All Blacks centre pairing of Ma'a Nonu and Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith.
The semi will pit Super Rugby's best attack up against the best defence.
"They play a style of rugby that's based on spreading defences and trying to make line breaks and then put you to the sword," Mogg said.
"Defence has been our strong point for us this year, but it's going to have to be [even better] this weekend against a quality Hurricanes side and hopefully we can match them."
