The former Mulwala junior hung up his boots after playing in East Fremantle’s WAFL loss to Claremont at the weekend.
McGough joined the Sharks in 2010, captaining the club, guiding it into a grand final and being runner-up in the 2012 Lynn Medal.
He also came fourth in the 2013 Sandover Medal.
McGough played 103 WAFL matches for East Fremantle after 49 games for Collingwood and St Kilda, with the highlight being winning the Anzac Medal for the Magpies as a 17-year-old.
