PLENTY of upsides in Murray United’s big turn around in NPL1 on Saturday — taking out a side that had thrashed them earlier in the year.
But there was also cause for celebration in the lower grades, in particular the under-18s.
They were up against Bentleigh Greens, the ladder leaders and feeder to an NPL side that is also top of the table.
But a goal to Ramesh Basnet was enough to see all three points go to the Border’s NPL newbies.
United technical director Paul Millynn said it was a huge effort.
“Their technical director was telling me they have huge numbers trying out ,” he said.
“In the end they pick a squad of 18 in every age division and there are no guarantees of game time.”
