ALISON Botting put everything into the Albury Tennis Association’s Tuesday morning ladies section 1 grand final at the Thurgoona Tennis Centre yesterday.
Botting and Gaye Rutsch were in fine form for Team Sands, while a dominant first set by Danielle Sands and Bernadette O’Donnell also proved instrumental in the seven-game victory over Team Furst.
Liz McCulloch and Maureen Richter were impressive for Furst.
The closest match of the day was in section 2 where a tie-break was required to separate Spasojevic and Marchant.
The Spasojevic duo of Kate Horsfall and Marg Fowler won the tie-break 7-3 to complete a thrilling victory, with Fiona Landy and Carolyn Spasojevic providing solid support.
Janine Parmenter, Nikki McIntosh, Cate Miller and Kirsty Marchant fought hard for Marchant in the enthralling contest.
In section 3 action, Brawn recovered from a first set deficit to go on and record a 4-2 win over Barber.
Judy Musgrove finished unbeaten for the winners, while Mona Doyle and Elizabeth Seirer also played well.
Clancy was away fast in its section 4 decider against Dihood and was never seriously threatened in completing the triumph.
