READING the letters page of July 1, I was struck by two letters.

1. “Shocked with comments” by Denise M. Cameron (and I have also read the letter that she has taken offence to), and it is amazing how two people can read the same words and get a totally different take on it; probably how the men who heard God’s words to write the Bible didn’t quite hear it the same ... maybe??
She states criticism against fellow clergy was wrong and sinful yet finds no such sinfulness in her criticisms of the Archdeacon. Odd how we can differentiate so easily in our own favour.
Letter 2. “Marriage is more than a union” by John McCormack. I love how they so often say they have a friend/relative/cat whatever who is gay and I take no offence at them but they cannot get married because that belongs to real relationships.
Call it something else and you lovely gay folk can have it.
Be grateful to the tolerant straight people for giving you that.
Honestly, in the misused words of the musketeers — marriage for all and all for marriage.
