THE Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Sydney Opera House will enter into a partnership to give performers and staff at both organisations a host of new training and performance opportunities.

The three-year arrangement comes as the Fruities launched a fortnight of performances at the opera house this week of their smash hit, Circus Under My Bed.
The partnership will see Fruit Fly students participate in an emerging circus artist program, Stunt Lounge, created specifically for young audiences, as well as production and management training opportunities at the Opera House.
Meanwhile, Opera House staff will develop their creativity and team-building through circus skills, and host public workshops in circus arts.
Executive director of the Flying Fruit Fly Circus Richard Hull said the new partnership would open many opportunities for young performers to develop their talent and passion for circus.
“It is terrific that the Opera House is so strongly supporting our national youth circus, and in that way truly championing regional and youth arts,” he said.
“The Opera House and the Fruit Flies are both committed to creating and presenting high-quality work that inspires young audiences to engage with the performing arts, so this should be a very happy marriage.”
Albury MP Greg Aplin said the partnership would bring “the best of regional NSW creativity” to city audiences.
