In a top-versus-bottom East conference clash, the Border club was never in the hunt, trailing 57-30 at the long break before being utterly blown away over the closing minutes of the second half.
Effort for the most part wasn’t the issue, rather, offensive production was again the critical problem for the hosts, with only forward Teyla Evans and imports Kristina Baltic and Ali Bouman providing any sort of scoring presence.
Evans top-scored with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Baltic and Bouman added 15 points each.
Albury-Wodonga never had an answer for Dandenong forward Jacinta Kennedy who poured in 25 first-half points on her way to a game-high 33.
There was no lack of scoring help, with Clare Papavs adding 30 points and Chloe Bibby coming off the bench to chime in with 15.
Lady Bandits coach Michael Brookens was bitterly disappointed at the final margin.
“Dandenong are just very comfortable in their system and that showed tonight,” Brookens said.
“They were quicker in their decisions than we were and we didn’t do anything to disrupt that at all.
“We show flashes of brilliance but we couldn’t put enough together to stick with them.
“That final margin really bothers me; that’s a lot of pain because we’re better than that.
“They’re not 50 points better than us, yeah, very disappointed with the final score.”
The Lady Bandits hit the road tomorrow for a clash with the struggling Canberra Capitals Academy.
