With the Saints being hit hard by injuries and departures in recent weeks, Corcoran will make his first senior appearance this season against Lavington at Lavington Oval today.

He has played three reserve grade matches this year.

Youngsters Ryan Crisp and James Monsching will make their debuts as Myrtleford attempt to put a horror week behind it.

“With an inexperienced side, we will need Leigh’s leadership,” co-coach Brad Murray said yesterday.

“He will play in bursts and give the younger blokes a hand.

“It will be good to have the ‘Secret Weapon’ out there.

“It’s exciting for the club to have Ryan Crisp and James Monsching in the side for their first games as they have earned their chance and it’s good for the club.”

Myrtleford has made six changes with Murray, Corcoran, Crisp, Monsching, Anthony LaSpina and Justin Baldori coming into the side for injured trio Pat Sullivan (collarbone), Christian Burgess (groin) and Hamish Leahy (concussion) and Murray Bushranger pair Ryley and Brady Sharp.

Forward Willie Thorne has left the club due to personal reasons.

Murray said Myrtleford had to learn from its narrow defeats.

“I don’t think we are too far off but we need to get better,” he said.

“We have to turn it around.

“Lavington is another really big test.

“We know we are up against it as Lavington is a good side.”

Lavington has selected veteran midfielder Kade Stevens in the reserves for his first match of the season today.
