Hicks Hydronics has been selected in the Regional Victoria small to medium business category and is up against five other finalists.
Operating everywhere between Melbourne and Canberra for just under three years, the small business started as a husband and wife team with Kalvin and Felicity Hicks.
The business has grown to eight as the couple search for an apprentice and a qualified plumber who specialises in hydronic heating.
The awards celebrate the achievements and entrepreneurial spirit of Australia’s small and medium businesses.
Mrs Hicks said it was exciting to be named a finalist.
Nominees were subjected to a rigorous business assessment that included a detailed analysis of the business’ planning and operations, financial performance, sales and marketing strategies, the team and client interactions.
“An in depth analysis by a nationally significant awards program is definitely a challenge and we are so proud to be recognised at a state level,” Mrs Hicks said.
“The level of referrals and repeat business speaks volumes of our products and is a great testament of client satisfaction, but this achievement speaks volumes about our ability to run a great business.”
Mrs Hicks said the business had seen strong and sustainable growth with its client base increasing more than 200 per cent over the past two years.
She attributed their success to up-to-date knowledge on new products, flexible approach to creating unique heating and hot water solutions and client satisfaction.
Winners will be selected by a judging panel and announced on July 14.
