Prior to the election the Liberals outlined a number of Liberal policies, all of which have been reversed since the Liberals came to power.
• “No cuts to the ABC or SBS”. Reality: $43.5 million in cuts over four years.
• “No cuts to education, no cuts to health”. Reality: $80 billion in cuts over the next decade.
• “We are not shutting Medicare locals”. Reality: all 61 shut.
• “No one’s personal tax will go up.” Reality: deficit levy on incomes over $180,000.
• “No change to pensions” Reality: pension assets test altered.
• “From 2014-15, the $5 billion aid budget will grow each year in line with the consumer price index”. Reality: $7.6 billion cut over the next five years.
• “The Coalition will continue the current level of funding expended on Closing the Gap activities”. Reality: reduction of $500 million.
• “No cuts to Landcare.” Reality: $484 million cut from Landcare.
• “ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) will have over $2.5 billion in funds to manage”. Reality: ARENA axed.
• “$500m for solar roofs.” Reality: solar roofs policy axed.
Given Eric Abetz, a Liberal front bencher, has let all these Liberal policies go by the wayside (failed to support Liberal Party policy) and is a man of integrity I guess he, and the rest of his cabinet along with the PM will be resigning immediately.
