Claire Enever, 39, and Tim Wilson, 43, were among a large crowd at the annual Albury-Wodonga Border Mail Bridal Fair at the Albury Entertainment Centre.
The couple got engaged just three weeks ago during a holiday in Cambodia.
“We have got our venue, but there’s a lot of other things we need to still plan,” Miss Enever said.
“We were on the lookout for a celebrant and a DJ.”
Miss Enever was also impressed with some invitation ideas she came across.
“There’s just so many different options these days, it was great to get some ideas,” she said.
About 800 people attended the fair, which featured 60 exhibits.
Event manager Bradley Hayden said it was a successful day with numbers slightly up on last year.
“It’s a popular event because it’s basically a one-stop-shop for all your wedding needs,” he said.
“Everything is covered from flowers, dresses, suits, photography to decorations.”
Visitors were even treated to one exhibitor releasing doves every half hour.
A highlight of the fair was two fashion parades featuring bridal wear and dinner suits.
A honeymoon on the Gold Cost for five nights went to Wodonga couple Kat Rosicka and Dan Stewart, who are planning their wedding for March next year.
“We went looking for a celebrant, photobooth and decoration ideas,” Miss Rosicka said. “We have now booked everything except the suits.”
Exhibitors were also happy with the day.
Jillian Franklin, of Jillian Franklin Designs in Albury, said she had the best response she has ever had from the bridal fair and looks to have a busy 12 months in front of her.
“I had a lot of interest in our custom-made headpieces,” she said.
“I also noticed lots of couples from Canberra who are organising a destination wedding.”
